La Faute sur mer
With its 8km of fine sandy beaches, this small seaside resort is a curiosity in the region. Linked to l'Aiguillon sur mer by a small bridge, it nestles between the river Le Lay and the Atlantic Ocean. Here, nature plays with contrasts: on one side, the calm, winding waters of the Lay, ideal for fishing and peaceful strolls; on the other, the ocean, with its powerful waves and infinite horizon, a symbol of freedom and adventure.
From the campsite, you can cycle to the Belle Henriette lagoon, the town centre with its casino and shops, and the Pointe d'Arcay biological reserve, a nature reserve of pine trees and dunes that is a haven for migratory birds.


Talmont Saint-Hilaire
Situated between Les Sables d'Olonne and La Tranche sur mer, you'll discover the two faces of Talmont saint-Hilaire, its historic side with the Château de Talmont, the 11th-century home of Richard the Lionheart.
Bordered by 2 rivers, the Sauvagère and the Payré. It is isolated twice a day with the tides. Come back to the Middle Ages during your visit.
Talmont Saint-Hilaire is also a coastal town with its dunes, salt marshes and oyster beds at Le Veillon, where you can sample oysters.
You can also take advantage of the footpaths for coastal and forest walks.
Les Sables d'Olonne
The Vendée Globe start line is 25km from the campsite.
Discover Les Sables d'Olonne on foot, by bike or on horseback. With its diverse and varied landscapes, such as its marshes, the Olonne national forest and its wild coastline, come and enjoy the flora and fauna of the Pays d'Olonne.
This seaside resort has a rich heritage, with typical narrow streets, 3 harbours, 2 churches, the Saint Croix Abbey Museum, a rose garden and a large beach called «Le Remblai», a fine sandy beach facing south for guaranteed relaxation.
Les Sables d'Olonne also offers water sports and a wide range of museums.


Poitevin Marsh
A vast natural region in the heart of the Vendée, the Marais Poitevin is a superb area to explore during your holiday at Les Préveils. Situated in three departments, the Vendée, Charente Maritime and Deux Sèvres, it is one of the largest marshes in Europe.

The islands
La Tranche sur mer is at the heart of the Vendée and Charente islands. Discovering the islands is an essential part of your stay at Les Préveils.
True jewels of the Atlantic coast, these islands offer unspoilt nature, heavenly beaches of fine sand, authentic villages and picturesque little ports.
You can reach the ile de ré, Oléron and Noirmoutier by road by crossing the bridges from La Rochelle, La Tremblade and La barre de Monts.
From the port of La Tranche-sur-Mer in season, you can take a boat to visit the islands of Ré, Fort-Boyard, Oléron and Aix.
To reach the Ile d'Yeu, cross from Port-Fromentine or Saint-Gilles-Croix de Vie.


La Rochelle
During your stay in the Vendée, be sure to visit La Rochelle. Located less than an hour from the campsite, discover this true maritime city with its quays and historic ports.
Don't forget to visit the Lantern Tower and the Chain Tower during your day of discovery, not forgetting the old port.
At the entrance to the city, you'll find the famous Porte de la Grosse Horloge, which opens onto small streets lined with arcades, superb buildings and numerous restaurants and cafés. This is a good opportunity for you to settle down at a table, order a meal or a drink and enjoy the charms of this beautiful city.
La Rochelle hosts numerous events throughout the year. The most famous are the Francofolies, a festival of French-language music, and the Grand Pavois, an international boat show.
La Roche sur Yon
Located in the heart of the Vendée, La Roche sur Yon is its capital. This beautiful historic town, built by Napoleon, is full of surprises, cultural sites and activities to enjoy with friends or family. The unmissable Place Napoléon has been invaded by animated animals, the National Stud opens its doors to you right in the town centre, and many historic monuments will be delighted to welcome you during your holiday. La Roche sur Yon is the ideal destination on a rainy day during your seaside holiday!
The area around La Roche sur Yon, and in particular the Vallée de L'Yon, is renowned for its rich natural heritage and its many walks, horse rides and cycle rides.
